Ebbsfleet United boss Jamie Day praises former Gillingham striker Danny Kedwell after his debut against Forest Green

Ebbsfleet boss Jamie Day hailed Danny Kedwell's work-rate on his Ebbsfleet United debut.
Kedwell, who joined the Fleet on an 18-month deal last week, started against Forest Green Rovers in the FA Trophy on Saturday and completed 90 minutes for only the second time since August.
Day said: "His work-rate was brilliant. He had a couple of half-chances but his quality, when it goes up to him, it sticks and it can bring others into play.
"He’s a good player and he should be playing higher."
Kedwell was one of three new signings in Day's starting XI, alongside another former Gills player, Stuart Lewis, and Theo Lewis - who Ebbsfleet signed from Woking for an undisclosed fee.
Day said: "When you look at the boys that started, including the three new lads, they’ve been on the bench at their clubs so they were probably feeling a bit tired after that 70-minute mark, which you have to take into account.
"Theo got a tight calf because of not playing as much as he wanted to and maybe the training schedule caught up with some of them. But I thought we looked good for a good period of time – obviously I want to get that over 90 minutes.
"All the signings that we make are going to need to make an impact straight away. It’s not their fault but we haven’t got three or four weeks for them to bed in and get used to their surroundings.
"They need to hit the ground running and I thought all three put in a good shift and showed what qualities they’ve got."
