The Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix will be the first racing infront of fans at Brands Hatch since the Covid-19 crisis led to racing being stopped.

Track activity at Brands has already resumed with testing and trackdays taking place.

In line with latest government guidance, all five of MSV’s venues (Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park and Snetterton) will initially reopen with reduced capacities.

They say a range of hygiene and social distancing measures will be in place.

There will be restrictions, however. Fans won’t have access to the paddock and pit lanes “for the time being” and no overnight stays are permitted, other than for competitors.

Anyone wishing to attend are asked to purchase tickets in advance or be in possession of a valid season or resident's pass.

The reopening is only for race meetings at present. MSV said: “Until further notice only participants and their essential helpers may attend a test or track day. No-one else, including spectating friends or family members, or media, will be admitted.”

The Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix event will see the circuit alive with retro racing action from the Historic Sports Car Club.

Major attractions will include the XL Aurora Trophy for powerful 1970s single-seaters including Formula 5000 machines, the like of which raced alongside F1 machines in the Brands Hatch Race of Champions events during that decade.

Other highlights will include the Thundersports prototypes, which will recreate the European sports-endurance scene of the era with machinery from Chevron, Lola and more. The line-up will also include historic touring cars plus other sports cars and single-seaters for true glimpse back to the past.

MSV say that if a race meeting is postponed, all tickets will be valid for the rescheduled event.
