Ebbsfleet take on the National League leaders on Saturday with boss Daryl McMahon calling for them to build on a run of three straight wins.

With just five points covering the top half of the table, Fleet know victory at Macclesfield could lift them into the play-off places for the first time this season.

They’ve taken a maximum nine points from games against Boreham Wood, FC Halifax and Solihull and are up to 11th.

But McMahon said: “I don’t really care where we are in the table at the minute. The league hasn’t settled down yet.

“We’re playing Macclesfield on Saturday and they’ve gone top, so everything’s all over the place. We’ve got to keep performing and hopefully the results keep on coming.

“Every team’s got players that can hurt you and that one moment you switch off, you end up back where you started.

“It’s important we build on what we’ve done, that’s the key.

“Macclesfield are a good side. They’ve got some good players, a good manager and they’re decent at home but we go there in decent form.

“We’re starting to get those wins together and we’re scoring goals.”

Fleet could be without Darren McQueen and Andy Drury again after both players missed Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Solihull.

McQueen goes for a scan on his knee injury today (Thursday) while Drury has a calf problem.
Sam Magri is on international duty with Malta but the past week has highlighted the strength of Fleet’s squad.

Sean Shields came off the bench to score twice against Halifax on Saturday while another substitute, Danny Mills, netted his first goal for the club at Solihull.

McMahon said: “The players work hard every day and they’re all important to me.

“Across the season, you will get your turn to play and it’s important that when you go in, you’re ready to perform.

“You could see the reaction to Millsy’s goal and the acceptance of him. Everyone’s so happy for him because of how hard he trains.

“We’ve got great togetherness in the group and that allows, when you are missing key players, someone else to step up to the plate.

“I know people will say it’s been 14 games and Millsy hadn’t got a goal (before Tuesday) but he’ll get goals. We brought him in the summer, gave him a two-year contract and I’ve got no doubt he’ll get goals for the football club.”
