Georgia-Mae Fenton is determined to prove she’s a jack of all trades at the European Games.

Fenton’s quality on bars saw her crowned Commonwealth champion last year but the 18-year-old has been working hard to improve her other disciplines.

“Last year was really good,” she said. “I had a lot of good competitions but didn’t quite finish the year off how I wanted to.

“That was quite annoying and upsetting because I got injured at the Worlds and didn’t get to perform my best.

“This year I’m hoping to do my upgrades, put out good routines and prove myself as an all-arounder.

“I know now to go all for it and give everything I can. The main thing for me was upgrades because I was always behind on floor and vault.

“I’ve upped my vault and added in a slightly new tumble on floor but the main thing is my vault, so if I can compete that well I should be good.

“I’m hoping to make the all-around final and hopefully a bars final. The dream would be to come away with a medal but we’ll see how it is.

“I’m mainly there to put out upgrades and if they pay off, it should be a good competition.”

As for the season so far, Fenton said: “It’s gone pretty well. I managed to get two British titles on bars and beam and they meant a lot because I didn’t go to the Europeans.

“I didn’t want to let myself down completely, I wanted to go out there and show I could be on the team. I felt like I did a good job there and got a good score.

“Minsk gives me a chance to show what I can do ready for the end of this year and next year. Hopefully I won’t have to change my routines around any more.”
