Danny Kedwell believes Ebbsfleet are only going to get better after a good first week back in the National League.

Kedwell scored on his 100th start for the club in a 2-0 win over Maidstone on Tuesday night.

That leaves newly-promoted Fleet with four points from two games after they drew 2-2 at Guiseley on the opening day.

Kedwell said: "It’s a brilliant start and that’s the standards the gaffer’s set.

"He said the first five games of the season are massive and if we can get as many points as we can on the table, we’ve got a good shout.

"To have four points from two games is a great start.

"We’re just going to get stronger and stronger as we go on. We’ve had two games in this league and once we adapt to it, we’re going to be hard to beat.

"Saturday felt like a loss because we dominated the whole game and didn’t take our chances early on.

"We came off disappointed because we conceded two sloppy goals and didn’t take our chances but on Tuesday we scored two out of the four chances we had so we swapped it around."

Kedwell has started both games alongside Darren McQueen and he gave the Maidstone defenders no peace, particularly in the second half of the derby.

He said: "I feel as fit as a fiddle. I know I don’t look it out there, physique-wise, as everyone keeps telling me but I work my socks off for the team, the gaffer and the fans.

"Until my legs fall off, I’m not giving up.

"All the players who were here in the play-offs (in 2016) have learnt from those stupid mistakes and we’re going to get stronger and stronger."
