Talk of resurrecting a deal to bring Junior Morias to Ebbsfleet appears to be wide of the mark.

Peterborough striker Morias has been linked with Fleet throughout the summer but his price tag remains a stumbling block.

It's believed Posh want £100,000 for Morias and director of football Barry Fry was this week quoted as saying the two clubs had agreed a fee.

But, asked where negotiations were at, Fleet boss Daryl McMahon insisted: "Nowhere. We're still looking for that striker.

"We are going to be patient with it because of all the attacking options we've got in the group.

"Darren McQueen's come back and he played well on Saturday. He's training very well so we need to make sure we get the right one in."

Jack Connors and Freddy Moncur are both training with the Fleet squad in Portugal this week.

Left-back Connors was released at the end of last season but could yet earn himself a new deal.

McMahon said: "He's not got a club yet that he's been happy with.

"As everyone knows, I like him, he left on good terms and I said he could come back to train while he's waiting for something to come up.

"We'll see what happens during pre-season and see how he gets on."

Moncur, the son of former West Ham player John, ended last season at Wingate & Finchley.

McMahon said: "I played with his dad many years ago. He left Leyton Orient during last season.

"He's a young midfield player, good energy, technically good, a good lad and we'll have a look at him during pre-season."

Ebbsfleet, who drew 1-1 with Billericay on Saturday, host Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday (7.45pm).
