Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon on the 3-1 win at Solihull Moors

Daryl McMahon saw complacency creep into Ebbsfleet's play on Tuesday night.

They were totally in control at half-time against Solihull Moors, leading 2-0 and having created enough chances to put the game to bed.

But a goal at the start of the second half gave Solihull hope and the complexion of the game changed as Fleet were forced onto the back foot before scoring late through Danny Mills.

A win's a win but McMahon has high standards.

He said: "In the first half we were very good but we were sloppy for the first 20 minutes of the second half.

"We allowed them back into the game and conceded a poor goal - a goal kick for them straight into our centre-half, one ball in behind us, which we spoke about at half-time.

"It was a poor goal but after that we were better."

Asked if he took the sloppiness for complacency, McMahon admitted: "I think so, yes. That's what I'm alluding to.

"No-one in this division's good enough not to be at it all the time. It doesn't matter who you're playing, top v bottom, every team's got players that are capable of hurting you.

"The one moment you switch off, you come under pressure and I didn't think we needed to be under pressure.

"We were quite in control of the game but we got a little bit sloppy for that spell.

"Luckily we managed to get the third goal and kill the game."

Fleet were excellent in the first half and two goals in the space of four minutes were just reward for their dominance.

Myles Weston got the ball rolling with a fine shot from the edge of the box - his first goal for the club.

McMahon said: "He's got goals in him. He's a player that will shoot from 20 yards, he's got the pace and ability to shift it a couple of yards and get a shot away. He's done it in the last couple of games and been unlucky not to score so I'm delighted for him because I thought he was terrific."

Weston turned provider for Fleet's second, crossing for captain Danny Kedwell to score from close-range.

McMahon said: "They're the best goals, aren't they? You can put your arm in the air before you score.

"It was a great ball across from Westy and Keds was in where every good striker should be, in between the sticks, because that's where all the goals come."

Mills sparked wild celebrations on the bench when he made it 3-1 with seven minutes left.

McMahon said: "You've seen the reaction from the staff and the players because we know how hard he works in training and after training.

"When he hasn't been playing, he's been doing so much extra work just to keep himself in tip-top shape ready for when his chance comes and I'm over the moon for him that he's got the goal.

"Hopefully he can get on a run now and we all know he's a goalscorer."
