Ebbsfleet United vice-chairman Peter Varney says loud support is crucial in the play-off second leg against Whitehawk

Peter Varney has urged Ebbsfleet supporters to drown out their Whitehawk counterparts in Sunday's play-off decider.
Fleet lead the tie 2-1 after a battling performance at the Enclosed Ground on Wednesday night.
The Hawks were backed by a noisy home support in the first leg and with a place in the National League South promotion final at stake, Mr Varney wants Stonebridge Road rocking as Daryl McMahon's side look to finish the job.
He said: "It’s only half the job done. We need to now on Sunday really get the sort of support they had on Wednesday at Stonebridge Road.
"They made a lot of noise, the Whitehawk fans, and they will do at Stonebridge Road. We’ve got to match that. We can’t have fans turning up, waiting for it to happen. It’s half-time and they need to really get behind the side.
"The crowd make so much difference. They can make you rush a clearance or a shot when they’re that vociferous and that’s what we need."
Ebbsfleet came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Whitehawk back in August and their second-half comeback sparked one of the best atmospheres of the season.
It was a similar story when Chelmsford came to town last month. Fleet conceded inside the first few seconds but, roared on by more than 2,000, they fought back to win 3-1.
McMahon said: "When we played Chelmsford at home, the crowd were outstanding that day.
"Speaking to a few Chelmsford players myself after the game, they said the noise, they’d never seen it at Ebbsfleet where the crowd were so behind them.
"They were our 12th man that day. We need them again on Sunday without a doubt because Whitehawk have got a terrific crowd as well."
A draw would send Fleet through but there will be nothing negative about their approach.
McMahon said: "We’re not a team to sit back and defend. That’s not how we play.
"We’ll take Whitehawk on and I’m sure they’ll do the same to us, so it should be an entertaining game - on a better pitch as well.
"I think it’ll suit both teams playing at our place.
"You work every day, all season, for these moments and we’re looking forward to it."
McMahon dropped club captain Tom Bonner for the first leg, opting for the pace and power of Kenny Clark up against Whitehawk's big centre-forward Danny Mills.
Fulls-backs Dean Pooley and Joe Howe look set to continue in the absence of Matt Fish, while Sean Shields, JP Kissock and Aaron McLean are just three of the options available to McMahon if he decides to tinker with his starting line-up.
Kick-off at Stonebridge Road is at 4pm.
