Ebbsfleet captain Stuart Lewis has a point to prove when the new season kicks off.

Lewis was one of Jamie Day’s big-name signings during the middle of 2014/15, arriving in January after four years at Wycombe Wanderers.

Fleet were just one point outside the play-offs when he joined but 16 games later, they were 10 points and three places adrift of the top five.

The former Gillingham midfielder said: "When we arrived in January, we came with the objective of at least getting in the play-offs.

"We didn’t really click. There were a few good performances which showed some promise but there were a lot of changes and a lot of unsettled people.

"That was difficult to deal with but now we’ve got the bit between our teeth to go again this season and put a few wrongs right.

"We all came here with the sole objective of getting promotion and taking this club to where it should be.

"The thing I’ve got in my mind is just proving what I’m about and attacking this season."
