Tonbridge Angels claimed a deserved derby win at Ebbsfleet in National League South on Saturday.
Steve McKimm's team defended brilliantly at Stonebridge Road and grabbed the points thanks to Tommy Wood's first-half winner while goalshy Fleet have now failed to score in their last two home games.
Fleet started brightly with Lee Martin shooting wide from distance and keeper Jonny Henly making a smart stop from Iffy Allen.
Tonbridge were always a threat on the counter. Ben Greenhalgh found Khale Da Costa in the 19th minute but his cross was just too far ahead of Wood.
It was a warning that Fleet failed to take notice of, as Tonbridge's goal came from a similar move.
Before then, Fleet had two good chances to open the scoring. Allen set up Lee Martin, who fired high and wide. Then, just before the break, Jack Paxman pulled the ball back for Bingham, who fired over the bar from close range.
Tonbridge went ahead in the second minute of stoppage time. A lovely, flowing move sliced the Fleet apart. Tonbridge had enjoyed good breaks but the final ball had been lacking - they soon put that right.
James Folkes, impressive in defence and going forward, exchanged passes down the right wing before crossing for Wood to score from close range.
Fleet replaced Allen with Adam Mekki at the break, and the game had a similar pattern to the first half. Tonbridge were content to sit and break on the counter, Ebbsfleet had lots of possession but were largely toothless in attack.
When a clear-cut opening came their way, Folkes cleared the danger as Alexander Eirich looked to score within minutes of coming off the bench for his debut.
Three of Tonbridge's back four entered referee Jack Packman's notebook but you couldn't help but be impressed by the way Steve McKimm's men defended.
They kept their shape perfectly and limited Ebbsfleet to very few dangerous moments in and around their own penalty area.
