DAISH: "Everyone has contributed and it has been a big team effort"

Ebbsfleet v Exeter City

EBBSFLEET manager Liam Daish says his players are relishing the prospect of playing Exeter City at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.

Fleet are eighth in the Blue Square Premier and remain five points behind Exeter, who are sixth.

Daish’s side picked up three straight league wins in January, a statistic which ensured the former Coventry defender won the Blue Square Premier manager-of-the-month award.

He said: “It shows that the team and the players have done well. All credit to them as they have worked hard. Everyone has contributed and it has been a big team effort.”

Daish was quick to acknowledge the role of his backroom staff and added: “Everyone behind the scenes should have got an award. It shows we must be doing something right. We run everything as well as we can.

“We’re professional in what we do and that’s something I’ve known from the start. Nothing has really changed. We have always tried to do it and the players are starting to reap the rewards.”

Peter Hawkins (groin) is Fleet’s only injury doubt for Saturday' game.
