Woking 1 - 3 Gravesend & Northfleet
GRAVESEND followed up their goalless draw with Cambridge United on Saturday with an impressive 3-1 win at Woking on Bank Holiday Monday.
Fleet made a great start to the match and found themselves two goals up inside a quarter of an hour.
The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute when Jimmy Jackson was on hand to head home after Woking keeper Shwan Jalal could only parry Danny Slatter's initial shot onto the cross bar.
And the advantage was doubled in the 14th minute when Jay Saunders finished well from just outside the box after Manny Omoyinmi had done well to pick him out.
Saunders then put the result beyond any doubt five minutes into the second half when he rose to head in Lee Protheroe's fine cross from the right.
Ian Selley scored Woking's consolation with a fine free kick 19 minutes from time.
Meanwhile, in Nationwide Conference South, Welling went some way towards making up for the disappointment of losing their unbeaten record to Yeading on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at Eastbourne Borough.
