EBBSFLEET midfielder Neil Barrett believes the team have hit top form at the right time.
Fleet were unbeaten in 10 games - ahead of Tuesday's 4-0 defeat against Weymouth in the Setanta Shield - and Barrett was pleased with the way the team ground out a result against the same opponents in the FA Trophy third round on Saturday.
He said: "We didn’t play like we’ve been playing of late but I think that’s the sign of a good team.
"The game wasn’t great but we ground out a decent result. We’re delighted and we’ll take those 1-0 results all day."
Barrett was delighted to get on the scoresheet and added: "It probably wasn’t the best header in the world and the ball just seemed to die.
"I was delighted when it came back to me and I didn’t make a mistake with the second one.
"I think everyone has been chipping in.
"It’s not just the front men who have been scoring. Stacy Long, Michael Bostwick and Chris McPhee have all chipped in as well and that’s great."
Fleet are just six points off the play-off places and Barrett is confident they can make a final push for promotion.
