Two goals from Billy Bricknell helped Ebbsfleet stun Vanarama Conference South leaders Boreham Wood on their own patch on Sunday afternoon.
Jamie Day's side travelled to Hertfordshire on the back of consecutive home defeats but they clinched a result which lifted them to seventh and within a point of the play-offs.
Fleet broke the deadlock on 17 minutes. Sean Shields played a cracking diagonal ball to Tyrone Marsh and his low cross was converted by Bricknell.
The home side poured forward in search of an equaliser and they got one five minutes into the second half. A cross from the right wasn't cleared and Graeme Montgomery buried the ball into the top corner to make it 1-1.
But Bricknell doubled his tally 20 minutes from time, pouncing after Wood keeper James Russell had flapped at Daryl McMahon's free-kick.
Anthony Cook ensured all three points were heading back to Kent when his cross from the left, just three minutes after Bricknell's goal, drifted all the way in for Fleet's third.
