SODJE: scored after coming on as a sub

York 0 Gravesend & N 2

GRAVESEND & Northfleet are still with a chance of making the Conference play-offs after securing victory at York on Saturday.

They did it with goals from Charlie MacDonald and Onome Sodje and are now up to seventh in the table.

After the game Fleet boss Liam Daish said: "We worked tremendiously hard and there were two clinical finishes. It was great for everyone, especially the back four, to keep a clean sheet."

His team took the lead when top scorer MacDonald fired past City keeper Tom Evans on 16 minutes.

York missed a few chances and had a number of penalty appeals rejected before substitute Sodje sealed the win on 83 minutes.
