Anthony Cook wants to give Ebbsfleet fans something to cheer about at the start of 2017.
The Fleet host Dartford on New Year’s Day and defeat is not something Cook is willing to consider after their Boxing Day loss in the first fixture.
“You don’t want to lose two games against them,” said Cook.
“It’s probably the last time we’ll play them this season. Hopefully, we’ll get the win so the fans can have something to brag about.
“We lost the first game and I’m just glad that it comes back around inside six days and we get a chance to put it right."
Cook scored a stunning goal to give the Fleet hope of snatching a point.
He added: “I was pleased with the strike, as you are with any goal that goes in but I’m just disappointed that we lost. When I get the ball, I try to make things happen. I got a chance and put it away but there were a few more efforts I was disappointed with.
“We’re going to work on the things that didn’t go right and it will be a different spectacle on New Year’s Day."
