Kidderminster v Gravesend & Northfleet

GRAVESEND'S 17-year-old local-born striker Luke Moore, who opened the scoring in Monday’s Kent Senior Cup quarter-final 2-0 defeat of Dover, is likely to start at Kidderminster in the Conference on Saturday.

But Charlie MacDonald is nursing a knee injury that is not healing as quickly as was first thought.

Scott Gooding has a shin injury, Bobby Bowry a problem with a hand while Jay Saunders has not recovered from a back injury.

Meanwhile, Fleet manager Liam Daish has issued an open invitation to Gravesend’s PASE scheme trainees to follow Moore’s example in graduating to the senior side.

Moore, who is earning rave reviews this season, is now an established first-team squad member and Daish insisted: "The message is quite clear. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough. There are one or two other prospects who are bubbling under and could make the breakthrough if they apply themselves.

"Talk to Charlie MacDonald about Luke and he’ll tell you how much he enjoys playing alongside him."

Daish said: "When I first came to the club the PASE scheme was up and running but nobody was coming through.

"Thanks to a lot of hard work on the part of coaches Ian Docker and Paul McCarthy, we’re starting to reap the benefit."
