Rookie defender Franklin Domi is ready and willing when Ebbsfleet boss Dennis Kutrieb comes calling.

Domi made just his third start of the season in the Fleet’s FA Cup win over Sevenoaks on Saturday.

“I want to play as many games as I can, do well and hopefully we win the league,” said Domi.

“The manager said I’d trained well last season, shown him what I could do and he wants me to kick on and see what happens.

“If I get an opportunity then I’ve always got to show the gaffer what I can do.

“For me it’s about patience at the moment, coming in and showing what I can do. If I can do that then maybe I’ll get more game time, who knows? It’s up to the gaffer.

“Training hard every day, working hard and the gaffer trusts me. I have to prove I am doing well.”

The 22-year-old ended last season on loan at Stonebridge Road and made the move permanent after leaving QPR.

There was only one place Domi wanted to end up, with full-time football a big lure of joining Ebbsfleet.

“Obviously for me on a personal level it was very important to stay full-time,” said Domi.

“I didn’t want to drop my ability in a way because when you only train twice a week then you do lose your sharpness.

“I wanted to stay full-time and come to a team with ambition.

“It’s a great set-up here and for me it was important to pick the right choice as well. I think Ebbsfleet was the right one.”

Domi made his mark against Sevenoaks, delivering the cross for Dominic Poleon to seal their progress in stoppage time.

He said: “The second goal on Saturday was a training ground move so I’ve got to show him that I can do it in training, and can then do it on the pitch.

“That goal was a move, going out wide on the overlap and crossing. For that to come off, credit to the gaffer, as we always practise that.”
