A FINE header by Francis Duku gave Gravesend & Northfleet maximum points in this keenly-fought derby clash at Stonebridge Road on New Year's Day.

Only days earlier Fleet had defeated Margate 3-1 away in another league encounter.

In the latest meeting of the two Kent rivals, Chris Moore put Fleet in front after nine minutes, heading home Ben Abbey's cross.

Margate's John Keister grabbed an equaliser on 30 minutes. But five minutes later Duku netted the winner after the Thanet side's keeper Phil Smith had fumbled a Lee Protheroe corner kick.

Just before the break Margate's Darren Annon almost levelled the scores again but his free kick came back off the woodwork.
