They’ve turned to former Kidderminster Harriers chairman Colin Gordon, who will “oversee all football, recruitment and retention matters” in a Head of Football role.

Gordon will work with current manager Harry Watling and the existing staff “as the club continues to focus on strengthening and re-balancing the football department on and off the pitch in our bid to rectify our current league position”.

Ebbsfleet chief executive Damian Irvine said: “Colin is vastly experienced in the game and we welcome him to the club to consult on and support the football department in both the short-term immediate needs and goals, and the longer strategic direction on the pitch.”

Gordon was chairman of Kidderminster for four years from 2015.

Ebbsfleet are next in action at Sutton in the FA Trophy this Saturday before resuming their league campaign with a re-arranged trip to AFC Fylde on Tuesday, December 10.
