Ebbsfleet United forward Elliott Romain joins Eastbourne Borough on loan

Ebbsfleet forward Elliott Romain has joined former club Eastbourne Borough on a month's loan.

The 30-year-old has not featured in the Fleet's opening three National League South matches and watched on from the stands as Dennis Kutrieb's men won 3-2 at Eastbourne on Tuesday night.

Romain struggled for minutes during pre-season after collecting an early red card in the game at Corinthian.

He previously scored 20 goals in 25 starts for Eastbourne during the 2016/17 season.

Eastbourne boss Danny Bloor said: "Elliott needs no introduction to our fans, and more's to the point, he is a player whom they love to bits.

"He is, as we know, an attacker who terrorises defences with his pace and physical power. He's a striker you always want playing for you and not against you!

"I want to thank Ebbsfleet United manager Dennis Kutrieb and chief executive Damian Irvine for making this possible."

Former Dartford and Maidstone forward Romain's first game back at Eastbourne is due to be at Hungerford on Saturday.
