GRAVESEND & Northfleet have signed former MK Dons and Rushden & Diamonds defender Peter Hawkins.

The 28-year-old has made more than 180 Football League appearances and will bring a wealth of experience to Stonebridge Road.

Manager Liam Daish told fans on the club's website: “This was an opportunity that we just couldn’t pass up.

"Peter has been ‘paid off’ by Rushden. He is a local lad and was very keen to join us. He will undoubtedly strengthen our squad."
