EBBSFLEET chairman Jason Botley has called on the club’s supporters to embrace MyFootballClub members during their first Blue Square Premier home game against Stafford Rangers on Saturday.

Twenty thousand members of the fans community website have paid £35 each to provide a £700,000 takeover pot and they will all own an equal share.

But Mr Botley said it was likely there would be some new support, but he wouldn’t expect it to be a record crowd.

"The indications from the MyFootballClub website are that people who wouldn’t normally attend will be there,” he said.

Fleet fans have given a mixed reaction to the proposed takeover but Mr Botley is confident the club’s supporters will give a warm welcome to any new faces at Stonebridge Road.

He said: “I’ve said before how much I appreciate the hardcore support, but there will be new support coming and I would encourage them to embrace it.”

Fleet manager Liam Daish is looking forward to facing strugglers Stafford and has called on his players to produce a repeat of Saturday’s performance.

He said: “The players can take a lot of confidence into the game after the way they played and applied themselves at Oxford.”

Raphael Nade (thigh) and Neil Barrett (foot) are the only injury doubts.
