Fleet aiming to remain in front

GRAVESENDD & NORTHFLEET will be hoping to hold on to top spot in the Ryman Premier Division when they meet another promotion contender St Albans at Stonebridge Road.

The Fleet, who moved into first place in the league with a 3-0 victory over Hendon on Tuesday night, face a difficult task against a St Albans side who have lost only once on their travels so far this season.

Fleet manager Andy Ford will leave his team selection to the last possible moment with Rob Owen set to take a late fitness test on his injured ankle.

Definitely out of the side is Justin Skinner, who suffered a hamstring injury in the mid-week win, while goalkeeper Jamie Turner is still one week away from a return to action.

Ford says he is looking to strengthen the Gravesend squad but maintains he needs more supporters to come through the turnstiles before he can afford to spend any money.
