Ebbsfleet 3 Farsley 1
Ebbsfleet came from behind to secure their first win in five games against Blue Square Premier strugglers Farsley Celtic at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night.
The visitors took the lead in the first half through David McNiven before second half goals from James Smith, Luke Moore and Charley Hearn completed an impressive second half fightback from the Fleet.
Manager Liam Daish said: “I wasn’t that happy with the overall performance.
“We played better against Woking and Aldershot. That’s probably because we weren’t given as much space.
"That might sound strange but sometimes when we’ve got too much time on the ball, we start taking too much time and it can cause us problems.”
Farsley took the lead against the run of play on 25 minutes when McNiven raced onto a pass to lob the advancing Lance Cronin.
In the second half, Fleet came out with a new lease of life and they pulled level on 53 minutes when Purcell’s corner was headed home by Smith.
Farsley were made to pay for missed chances in the 66th minute when Moore cut in from the left before firing the ball home from an acute angle to give Fleet the lead. Hearn then put the result beyond doubt when he got up well to head home Bostwick’s cross after 80 minutes.
