Fleet beaten by five-goal Histon comeback

Histon 5 Ebbsfleet United 2

Ebbsfleet blew a two-nil lead against Blue Square Premier promotion-chasers Histon on Thursday night to end up soundly beaten.

The Fleet took the lead through Dean Pooley and Guiseppe Sole doubled their advantage when he latched onto a Lance Cronin long ball.

But the home side struck back a minute later through Jack Midson and Jamie Barker levelled the scores before the break.

The Cambridgeshire side continued their fightback in the second half with Matt Langston giving them the lead on the hour mark.

Midson grabbed a second later on and Danny Wright scored at the death to complete a victory which moves Histon to third in the table.

Liam Daish's side have little chance to recover as their punishing end of season schedule continues on Saturday away at Weymouth who are now managed by former Wales boss Bobby Gould.
