Ebbsfleet are trying to sign two forwards from Dagenham & Redbridge.
We understand Fleet have made bids for Michael Cheek and Fejiri Okenabirhie and hope to get the deals done before Saturday's trip to FC Halifax Town.
Cash-strapped Daggers sold Morgan Ferrier to Boreham Wood last week.
Fleet boss Daryl McMahon has been after fresh firepower for weeks and now it seems his search is almost at an end.
He's often said Danny Kedwell needs help up front and Luke Coulson's winner against Solihull Moors was Ebbsfleet's first goal for more than seven hours.
Speaking after that game, McMahon said: "I'm hoping, this week, we might add another player to the squad, which will give us another attacking option, which is good news to help the players in the run-in.
"We've got one or two ticking along that we hope to get done before Halifax - at least one, which we're fairly confident about."
Both players started for Dagenham against Aldershot on Saturday evening.
Cheek, 26, has scored nine goals in 23 appearances this season while 21-year-old Okenabirhie, an England C international, has found the net three times in his last five National League outings.
