Ebbsfleet 4 Grays 1
EBBSFLEET bolstered their play-off hopes with a comfortable win over Grays Athletic in Blue Square Premier at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday.
Fleet opened the scoring after 29 minutes when a Grays clearance fell to Neil Barrett whose half volley from 20 yards flew into the bottom left corner.
The home side made it 2-0 on 42 minutes when Luke Moore set up Stacy Long who fired the ball into the bottom right corner.
Grays showed plenty of endeavour and pulled a goal back on 64 minutes when Alan Power picked the ball up inside the Fleet half before beating two players and firing home an unstoppable shot.
Fleet had chances to put the game out of Grays' reach and only the woodwork prevented the visitors from going 3-1 down on 71 minutes when Smith’s shot from Long’s corner hit the under side of the bar.
The home side eventually secured the three points when Michael Bostwick slotted home Long’s left sided cross after 76 minutes.
Long completed the rout in the 88th minute when he got on the end of substitute George Purcell’s cross.
