Fleet boss Daryl McMahon has insisted there is still plenty of room for improvement.
After a quiet opening half-hour on Saturday, two Darren McQueen goals in as many minutes guided Ebbsfleet to a comfortable National League South win over Gosport.
It means the Fleet reach the halfway point of the campaign 10 points off the leaders and McMahon believe his squad is continuing to improve.
"We’ve evolved from day one to now and hopefully it continues and we keep on getting better," he said.
"We’re nowhere near where we want to be at still. There’s still lots to improve on the performance.
"But we’ve got some very good players and they’re working hard to bring success to the club.
“Barring the start of the season, our form from September 5 to now, we’ve only lost one game, drawn two and won the rest in the league. So we’ve been in good form for a couple of months and we’re ticking along nicely.
"I know Maidenhead won again, they’re the team out in front, so we’ll see what happens in the second half of the season."
On his team's display against Gosport, McMahon added: "The first half technically we could possibly have been a bit tighter with our passes.
"But in the second half we got stronger and stronger and I thought we dominated it really. We created a number of chances that we should have taken."
McQueen took his tally for the season to 12 and returned to top spot in the club's leading scorers chart.
"He’s quick, his control’s terrific, his movement’s good and his attitude’s terrific as well,” added the Fleet boss.
"We’re pleased to have him and long may it continue, him scoring goals for us."
