Manager Daryl McMahon has not ruled out more new signings before Ebbsfleet kick off the National League South season next month.

McMahon’s four additions so far are getting to know their new team-mates this week at an intense training camp in Portugal.

Centre-halves Dave Winfield and Mark Phillips, left-back Jack Connors and striker Bradley Bubb have committed to Fleet’s latest promotion push and they may not be the last.

"I’m comfortable at the minute," said McMahon. "If something comes up that I think can definitely improve us I’ll look at it, but there won’t be many more changes – if any.

"Dave’s a leader of men and Mark’s the same. They’re two whole-hearted centre-halves who put their bodies on the line. They’re organisers, winners.

"Jack Connors is a player I’ve known for a long time at Dagenham when I worked there.

"He’s a player that broke into the first team at 17 and had a lot of Championship clubs looking at him at the time.

"He probably lost his way a little bit (but) played for Ireland under-21s for the last two years, has got a lot of talent and he’s someone I believe I can get the best out of.

"Bubby is a player I know really well from playing with him at Farnborough many years ago. He got 24 goals last year and I think he’ll add something to us."

Ebbsfleet’s dramatic defeat to Maidstone in the play-off final hurt McMahon, but he has moved on.

He said: "You can’t get too high or too low – but I was pretty low that day.

"I tend to go at it again straight away. I’ve never liked dwelling on things. It’s not going to change what happened.

"Always in my mind, I had what I wanted to do, whatever league we were in. I tried to plan for that and move forward straight away.

"I don’t think you can look backwards too much or dwell on it too much – what if? – it is what it is and you’ve got to move forward.

"The lads last year did great. A lot of people forget about that because we didn’t go up.

"We accumulated two points a game, which probably would have been a promotion in most seasons and we had some good times together.

"But I’m looking forward to working now with this group and getting into next season.

"I’m 32 and I’ve had one year in management. I think I did OK last year for a first year as a manager.

"I think you’ve always got something to prove in football. You want to move forward."
