EBBSFLEET United manager Liam Daish was full of admiration for his players after seeing his side reach Wembley for the first time in the club's history.

Fleet beat Aldershot Town 4-2 over two legs in the FA Trophy semi-final to set up a Wembley final against Torquay on May 10.

Daish's side went into the second leg with a two-goal advantage, having beaten the Shots 3-1 at Stonebridge Road last Saturday, and drew 1-1.

Daish said: "It’s hard to put into words the achievement of the players. Over the two games there was no luck or good fortune. It was sheer hard work and sheer honesty.

"It was a different game from last Saturday but to a man everyone has done their jobs. What a great achievement for a club like Ebbsfleet. It’s unbelievable."

He added: "I’ve said it before but I’ve got the utmost admiration for my players. You can’t dismiss it.

"A lot of good teams and good players, who have played at a higher level, have never played at Wembley and we are."
