Fleet boss Daryl McMahon believes weekend opponents Gosport Borough will be facing a different beast this weekend.
Gosport claimed a 1-0 win over Fleet earlier in the season and the sides meet again at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
McMahon’s men are buzzing from a 1-0 FA Trophy replay win over National League side Woking and sit third in National South ahead of the clash.
“We are in a better place without a doubt,” said McMahon.
“We were missing a lot of players the last time we played them. Off the top of my head were without Phillips, Kedwell, Lewis, McLean and some players have risen the bar.
“McQueen has developed and playing particularly well, Sean Shields has been excellent, Jack Powell has got better and better.
“Clark and Winfield have got fit and we are a different team from back then, without a doubt.
“We are in a decent place. We need to be more consistent. Taking out the first eight or nine games of the season, when we had a lot of injuries followed by suspensions, we have been on a pretty good run and we just need to keep doing what we’ve been doing over the last few months.
“We have got a good side here and when they perform well we are a match for most teams in the level above and it is just about their consistency."
