Ebbsfleet boss Danny Searle has continued his summer recruitment by adding another defender to his squad.
The Fleet have added American-born defender Giles Phillips, who impressed during 15 appearances for Oxford City at the end of last season, despite their relegation from the National League.
The 27-year-old previously played for Waterford, Aldershot and Wycombe having started his career at QPR.
It will be the third time that Searle has worked with Phillips, the duo having been at Aldershot and Waterford together. Phillips also played alongside fellow Fleet summer recruit Tyler Cordner at Aldershot.
“Knowing Danny definitely makes the transition easier,” Phillips told FleetTV.
“I know exactly what he requires out of me. And then I played with Tyler for a season so I’m looking forward to building up that partnership we had as well..
“I’m an aggressive defender, but composed at the same time and bring some pace too.”
The move will no doubt soften the blow of losing the talented Myles Kenlock to National League rivals Barnet, along with midfielder Billy Clifford after the duo turned down new deals at Ebbsfleet.
