Like many of Searle’s summer recruits, Dallison adds considerable height to the squad at 6ft 4in and has plenty of EFL experience.

Dallison, who spent time at both Arsenal and West Ham academies, told FleetTV: “A number of things attracted me here. My relationship with the gaffer goes back a long way to when I was a young boy at West Ham and I’ve played here a number of times before.

“I really like the feel of the club. It’s a great surface here and suits my style of play and I’m looking forward to kicking a ball now and getting around the changing room with the boys.”

Dallison’s first pro deal was at Brighton and it was during this time that he enjoyed a spell on loan at Dartford in 2015.

After a brief spell with Falkirk, Dallison joined Crawley in 2019 and then Colchester paid an undisclosed fee for his services in 2022.

He made 65 appearances for Colchester, his final outing saw Dallison pick up a late red card against Grimsby in April, before he was released at the end of last season.
