Ebbsfleet’s Kuwaiti owners would rather keep the club at Stonebridge Road than build a new stadium at the Paramount Park.
Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi, the Fleet chairman, doesn’t want the club to have its identity swallowed up by the multi-billion pound development at the Swanscombe Peninsula.
Ebbsfleet only have 11 years left on their lease at Stonebridge Road, which is owned by Gravesham Borough Council, and moving home is still an option.
But vice-chairman Peter Varney said: "The owner’s preference is to stay at Stonebridge Road.
"He’s said a couple of times in meetings that if the theme park is built, he wasn’t necessarily keen that (Ebbsfleet) just became the Paramount team. He thinks football clubs should keep their identities.
"His preference would be that it should be here but we’ve got to look at all the options because that’s the only one we know at the moment.
"We don’t know what the other options are but that’s certainly what the owner’s said at board meetings.
"The council have been fantastically supportive since I’ve been here and we want to do this in a progressive way with them, so that it benefits Ebbsfleet and we have modern facilities wherever they are, that people can come along and enjoy and watch their football."
