Fleet complete deal for defender

EBBSFLEET UNITED manager Liam Daish has signed Woking defender Gary MacDonald.

The 27-year-old played under Daish at Havant & Waterlooville in 2000/01 and has league experience with Peterborough United.

MacDonald joined Woking in the summer of 2003 and can play at left-back as well as in the centre of defence.

The signing brings Ross Smith's two-year spell at Stonebridge Road to an end.

Smith's contract talks had been delayed for four months, with Daish opting to bring MacDonald in as the Canadian's replacement.

Meanwhile, Chukki Eribenne, Sam Mott and George Purcell have all signed new deals with the club.

John Akinde has been offered a contract while talks with Mark DeBolla and Onome Sodje are still ongoing.

Midfielder Jon Keeling has left to join Ryman Premier League side Chelmsford City and PASE graduate Mike McKenna has been released.
