Crawley Town 1 Gravesend & Northfleet 1

GRAVESEND & NORTHFLEET manager Liam Daish was full of praise for new signing Joel Ledgister following his side’s 1-1 draw with Crawley Town on Tuesday.

Ledgister has signed on a one month loan deal from Southend United and he made an immediate impact as a second half substitute to set up Charlie MacDonald for Fleet’s goal in the 66th minute.

Fleet were on top for most of the game and played the majority of the match with an extra man after Crawley's Scott Marshall was shown a red card for stamping on Robert Quinn after 36 minutes.

Crawley’s joint player/manager Dave Woozley rescued a point for the home side after bundling home Lee Blackburn’s free-kick on 88 minutes before Fleet had Sacha Opinel sent off in injury time.

Daish said: "We tried to make the pitch as big as we could when we had the ball but I thought we should have retained possession a little bit better.

"I was very pleased with Joel Ledgister. He was very positive and is very quick. We just probably didn’t get the ball to him enough. It was an all round good goal from us and it was a great finish by Charlie."

Gravesend: McShane, R Smith, McCarthy, Hawkins, Slatter (Ledgister 46), DeBolla (Coleman 87), Quinn, Long, Opinel, MacDonald, Moore (Sodje 61).
Subs Not Used: Mott, J Smith.
Attendance: 816.
