Burton Albion 0 – 0 Gravesend & Northfleet
GRAVESEND travel back to Stonebridge Road with a point after a goalless draw against Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.
Fleet were lucky not to be behind at the break. First, Craig Holloway saved wonderfully at the feet of striker Shaun Harrod, then Andy Drury produced a superb block to deny the same player as Burton piled on the pressure.
And the visitors survived a penalty appeal on the stroke of half-time when James Smith appeared to bring down Harrod with a clumsy challenge.
But it wasn’t all one-way traffic and Jay Saunders was unlucky to see his shot cleared off the line after a corner had eluded everyone before falling to him.
Fleet suffered a blow in the 57th minute when in-form striker Charlie MacDonald was forced off with an injury.
Both goalkeepers made fine saves in the closing moments to keep the scoresheet blank.
