Kenny Clark hailed Ebbsfleet’s new-found team spirit after two battling displays over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Fleet came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Whitehawk on Saturday before winning 1-0 at Dartford with 10 men on Monday.
That game saw Clark and fellow ex-Dart Tom Bonner record a fourth clean sheet of the season and help Fleet extend their unbeaten run to six matches.
Clark said: "It was a tough game. They threw the kitchen sink at it but credit to us, we held in there, even when we went down to 10 men and I thought we did well.
"We stuck together, worked hard and got the job done.
"I think that showed against Wealdstone and against Whitehawk on Saturday as well. It doesn’t matter if we’re behind – we’ve got that belief this season.
"There’s such a buzz around the club at the moment, it’s a great place to be and we’ve just got that never-say-die attitude.
"Fingers crossed we can keep that going and keep staying up at the top of the league."
Clark was ever-present during August as Ebbsfleet negotiated a tricky start to come out second in Vanarama National League South.
He said: "We’ve had some big games. Whitehawk will be up there, Maidstone are new to the league but they’re going to be up there as well and credit to Dartford as well, they’ll be up
there.
"We’ve had three big clubs and we’ve got seven points out of it so we’ve just got to keep that run going."
