Fleet handed another cup derby

GRAVESEND and Northfleet's assistant manager Phil Handford says he is happy the club has been drawn away to fellow Kent side Dover in the FA Trophy third round.

Despite going out of the FA Cup in the final qualifying stage to Margate earlier in the season, Handford isn't too concerned about facing another local derby in the national cup competition.

He said: "Hopefully we'll have a few players back by then but the draw could have been a lot worse for us. We'd have preferred to be at home but it's a nice pitch down there.

"There should be a good crowd for the tie which adds a little bit of spice, but we're confident of progressing through to the next round."

Margate are the only other kent team left in the FA Trophy. They travel to Ryman League side Dulwich Hamlet. The ties are due to be played on Saturday, January 11.
