Gravesend & Northfleet 0 Forest Green Rovers 0

GRAVESEND will see this goalless draw against Forest Green Rovers at Stonebridge Road as two points dropped.

Liam Daish’s team had more than enough chances to take three points but wayward finishing, most notably from Jean-Michel Sigere, cost them on a gloriously sunny afternoon.

Sigere had four chances before half-time, his best effort coming on 38 minutes when he put a header narrowly over the bar.

Hugh McAuley was the most impressive visiting player and he almost gave his side the lead with a speculative shot from around 35 yards that beat Paul Wilkerson but clipped the top of the crossbar and went over.

McAuley was the best player on the pitch and he had another shot saved by Wilkerson in the second half.

In fact, McAuley’s poise and craft in the midfield was just what Gravesend were lacking as they failed to create many meaningful chances in the second period, but they should have had the game won before the break.
