CHARLIE MacDONALD would love nothing more than to become the Nationwide Conference's top scorer during Gravesend's crucial game at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
For MacDonald knows that if he gets the two or more goals needed to overtake the Daggers' Paul Benson, the Fleet will be well on the way to securing the three points they need to sneak into the play-offs.
The 26-year-old took his goal tally to 27 with four strikes in his side's wins over Northwich and St Albans. Benson has netted 28 times for the champions.
MacDonald said: "First and foremost, we have to get the result we need. But of course, every forward wants to get the Golden Boot, and I'm no different.
"I'll be looking to score again on Saturday. I would love to win it, I won't lie, but if I do my job, then it means the team are doing their job."
