Croydon 3 Gravesend 4
GRAVESEND & Northfleet moved up to fourth in the Ryman League Premier Division with a 4-3 away victory at Croydon on Wednesday night.
Andy Ford's side were forced to sweat in the last few minutes after seeing their four goal half-time lead whittled away in the second period.
The visiting side appeared to be in control of the game after Francis Duku opened the scoring on 18 minutes.
Che Stadhart made it 2-0 ten minutes before the break, Jimmy Jackson smashed home the goal of the game from 35 yards on 39 minutes and Stadhart appeared to put the result beyond doubt with his second goal four minutes from the interval.
However, as the rain came down Croydon clawed their way back into the contest and after goals from Craig Dundas, Nick McDonnell and Tony Chin they sensed a shock result but The Fleet held out for a valuable three points.
