GRAVESEND & Northfleet chairman Brian Kilcullen has admitted that the club and its supporters must live with continuing speculation regarding a possible ground share with neighbours Gillingham.
The club's board of directors are exploring all avenues with landlords Land Securities, Gillingham chairman Paul Scally and Gravesham Council over the hottest topic in the Fleet's history.
Mr Kilcullen said: "These things are never concluded quickly and because there is no deadline we are helpless to stop the rumours that have been circulating for a month or more.
"All I can say to our supporters is that there are three options available. To start with there were two - to stay at Stonebridge Road or to move.
"The third arose when Paul Scally suggested that we might want to share with Gillingham in Gravesham, should their proposed scheme to develop Temple Marsh at Strood fall through.
"Because there is so much to discuss, talks remain on-going. What we have to make sure is that our final decision is in the best interests of this club. That cannot happen overnight. I'm sorry I cannot be more specific but I have no other option."
The key to the Fleet's future lies with Land Securities who are among the biggest landowners in Gravesham and who hold the whip hand on all three schemes.
Significantly, they part-own Mr Scally's preferred site for a new stadium at Temple Marsh. Land Securities succeeded La Farge who succeeded Blue Circle as the Fleet's landlords.
