GRAVESEND could come together with Premier League neighbours Charlton as they celebrate their respective centenaries next season.
Fleet chief executive Glenn Aitken met with Steve Sutherland, Charlton's assistant to chief executive Peter Varney, to discuss ideas and a further meeting is planned.
Talks could lead to a match between the two clubs at Stonebridge Road, though Mr Aitken would not be drawn on the subject.
He said: "They were preliminary talks but it was a very open meeting that was extremely helpful. It's fair to say we discussed marketing ideas and I would like to think it could lead to stronger links between the two clubs, which would be of enormous benefit to us.
"Areas of common benefit during our centenaries were talked about and I'm looking forward to the next meeting."
The club have reported good business in season ticket sales, which are up compared to last year.
Gravesend office manager Cheryl Wanless said: "It's still early but I've been pleasantly surprised. Several existing season ticket holders have already taken advantage of introducing two, three, even four new applicants. All have saved money and some ended up with a free ticket for themselves."
