Ebbsfleet chairman Jessica McQueen has warned supporters the club will not survive in the post-MyFootballClub era unless £70,000 is found in the next few days.

That figure includes around £35,000 in unpaid tax and failure to raise the funds could scupper any chance of the Fleet Trust successfully handing over control of the club to Spanish investor Carlos Kabir Karani.

Ebbsfleet fans were celebrating at the start of the week when MyFootballClub members voted to transfer ownership of the club after five years as owners.

That followed last Wednesday’s public meeting at Stonebridge Road, when Fleet Trust members voted overwhelmingly to support Mr Karani’s takeover proposal.

But while takeover negotiations continue, the bills remain unpaid and Mrs McQueen (pictured) urged fans to back up their votes with donations to keep the club alive.

She said: "All the people who voted at the meeting last week, saying they wanted the owners to go, saying they wanted this and they wanted that, well, the owners have done what people asked, the vote’s gone through.

"They have to make sure they come forward and they’re the ones who fund the club until a decision is made with Mr Karani. The club can’t stop for a couple of weeks until decisions are made.

"We need £70,000 very quickly and I mean in a matter of days, not a matter of weeks. The fans have the opportunity they’ve been waiting for, they gave the Fleet Trust a clear mandate last week and I hope they’re all going to back the Fleet Trust now."
