Ebbsfleet stunned Skrill South leaders Eastleigh to record their first home league win of the season on Tuesday.
The visitors arrived at Stonebridge Road on an eight-game unbeaten run, while Steve Brown’s side hadn’t taken maximum points in front of their own fans in five attempts.
But the tables were turned as the Fleet soaked up Eastleigh pressure and took the chances which fell their way.
The home side hit the front on 19 minutes. Anthony Cook combined with Alex Osborn, whose through-ball sent Billy Bricknell away to beat Ross Flitney with a cool finish.
Reason fired a free-kick over at the other end but the Spitfires did get themselves back on terms just before half-time.
A long goal kick from Flitney found Stuart Fleetwood in too much room and he punished the Fleet with a clinical finish.
The hosts made it 2-1 on 50 minutes when Osborn cut inside Chris Todd and went down under his challenge on the corner of the box. The referee awarded a penalty and Bricknell kept his cool to convert the spot-kick.
Daryl McMahon swept home a free-kick against his former club in the last minute to make the points safe.
