Kidderminster 0 Gravesend & Northfleet 2
GRAVESEND boosted their outside chances of a play-off spot with a 2-0 victory at Kidderminster.
A goal in each half from Onome Sodje and Andrew Drury settled the match as Gravesend made it three unbeaten in the Conference
Manager Liam Daish said afterwards: "We’re on a bit of a run, we have a good, young and honest side with a good team spirit and I’m sure there’s more to come. It’s always good to win away from home and it was thoroughly deserved.
"The players worked hard and we set out nice and strong and could have had a couple more goals."
Fleet had started the match at a high tempo and before their 17th-minute opener the home keeper had already had to deal with several dangerous moments in his penalty box.
Sodje netted from close range to put Fleet ahead as reward for their bright start, tucking home Jimmy Jackson’s corner.
Fleet goalkeeper Craig Holloway had his part to play, successfully protecting his side’s slender but deserved one goal advantage.
The visitors had to wait until the 73rd minute before doubling their lead. Drury’s free-kick took a deflection, which wrong-footed keeper John Danby, to put Fleet firmly in charge.
Kidderminster came close to pulling a goal back late on, when Johnny Mullins’ effort hit the post, but they were not able to break Fleet’s resistance and Daish’s side were able to walk away with a well- deserved victory.
