Daryl McMahon expects an open game when Ebbsfleet go to Maidstone on Tuesday.
Both teams are mid-table in the National League, still in with a shout of the play-offs but knowing draws are little use at this stage of the season.
It's all set up for an attacking derby at the Gallagher Stadium.
"I think it'll be an open game," McMahon said. "We're both in a similar situation in the middle of the league so hopefully it's open, exciting and both teams going for the win.
"We're really looking forward to it. Jay's done a great job down there so I'm looking forward to seeing him and looking forward to a good game on Tuesday night."
Maidstone have gone nine league games without a win, drawing their last four, while Fleet are looking to avoid a third straight defeat after losing to Bromley and Chester.
McMahon said: "We've got 18 games to go and we're sitting in 10th place but I think we could be higher. That's the frustrating thing for all of us here.
"If someone had said you've just won promotion and you're 10th, we'd all say happy days, that's nice, we'll stay up, but when you've seen the games and some of the points we could have gained that we haven't, that's the frustration.
"The reality is we're probably three, four, five players short of being a really strong outfit in this division that can really go and compete. Over time, we'll accumulate the right players to make us stronger in all the areas we need to get stronger in.
"But we need to keep ticking along and we've got a great game on Tuesday so we're looking forward to that."
