GRAVESEND’S proposed money-spinning friendly at home to neighbours Charlton hangs in the balance.

Fleet secretary Roly Edwards had expected to have already been given a date by the from the Premiership club but nothing has developed, even though the Addicks have already confirmed their August 2 friendly at Welling.

The Charlton friendly was part of the agreement that will see the club play all their Barclays FA Premier Reserve League home fixtures at Stonebridge Road in the coming season.

Mr Edwards said: "We are talking with them on a daily basis and if we need to cancel another game to accommodate Charlton we will."
